There are many reasons people may elect to take this class or be required to take the Defensive Driving Class:
Ticket Dismissal: Many courts in Georgia will dismiss a ticket for a traffic violation if the offender completes this 6-hours Defensive Driving Program prior to their court date but this is not a guaranteed. If the charge is dismissed, there will be no points placed on your driving record.
Point Reduction: You may complete this 6-hours Defensive Driving Program, once every 5 years to have up to 7 points from your driving record removed to prevent your license from being revoked.
License Suspension under the age of 18: This 6-hours Defensive Driving Program must be completed before you could reinstate your license, if you are under the age of 18 and cited for one or more tickets that accumulates four or more points on your license in a 12-month period.
License Suspension: If your license has been suspended, you must complete this 6-hour program before your license can be reinstated.
License Suspension under the age of 21: If you are under the age of 21, you must complete the 6-hour Defensive Driving Program, before your license could be reinstated and if you are cited for one ticket that accumulates 4 or more points on your license in a 12-month period.
Insurance Discounts: If you have a clean driving record for 3-year, you may take this 6-hour Defensive Driving Program to receive discount on your auto insurance premium. The percentage is determined by your insurance company.
Students will receive a Certificate of Completion.
